New Work!

Finished up a bunch of new color pieces this weekend and uploaded them to the gallery.  It’s been a long process of finding a new style that I was satisfied with.  My goal was to work on my style to make it neater, faster and more marketable.  There was a lot of back and forth on styles.  I learned some new programs, practiced as much as I could and obtained plenty of new reference.

All in all, I really like where things are going.  Took a lot of hard work, but I really believe it paid off.

What’s in a Name?

I felt it was about time that I changed my site from wordpress.com to just .com.  Finally had a lull in my work schedule to take on some of the maintenance that’s been piling up and that upgrade was at the top of my list.

I have a lot of new work that I want to update the site with.  Some must wait until it is public, while other work just needs some sprucing up.  But the whole site will have a new look in the not too distant future.

Also, when you go to my other site: joshhagen.com and click on storyboards in the menu bar, you will now be redirected here instead of to a single page on that site.  Just thought it would be nice to marry the two and I can do more here to show off my work than I can on that one page.

Stretching My Legs

Just some practice boards to show off today.  I’ve been working on some new techniques and creating some new photoshop brushes lately.  Trying to speed things up digitally.

 

Had a fun idea of birds of paradise and people with cool hair and/or clothing in the same scene:

Welcome to my brand new storyboard website!  I thought that it was about time that I came up with a website that is solely dedicated to my storyboard artwork.

While I do have an overall website that showcases some of my storyboard artwork (www.joshhagen.com),  that website also shows off my illustration work and sculpture work, and I wanted to have a website that focuses only on my storyboard artwork for my clients.

I invite you to check out the website and keep an eye out as I will be adding new work to the gallery page as time goes on.  I will also be posting new as well as in-progress work, news and more here on my storyboard blog more often than the gallery page.  Lots of new work coming there!
